10 Good Deeds that carry the Reward of Hajj

Since Hajj is some of the maximum virtuous deeds in Islam, and now not all of us can afford it (specially on a non-stop foundation) Allah Ta’ala has attached the praise of optionally available Hajj to certain other deeds for the gain of all.

Reward of Hajj
Now that the Hujjaj have departed, the ones who have been left in the back of can take consolation from the following narrations which promise of numerous different deeds yielding Hajj rewards:

1. Wudu at home before intending for Salah with Jamat.
Sayyiduna Abu Umaamah Radhiyallahu Anhu reports that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam stated: “One who purifies himself (i.E. Makes wudu) and leaves his home to attend the fard Salaah in congregation receives the praise of a Haji inside the kingdom of Ihram, and if he leaves for the Salatu-Dhuha (Chaast) he receives the praise of Umrah.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 559)

2. Salatul Ishraq/Namaz E Ishraq
Sayyiduna Anas Ibn Maalik  Radhiyallahu Anhu reviews that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: “Whoever offers his Fajr Salah in congregation, and then remains seated making the dhikr (remembrance) of Allah till (approximately 15 minutes after) sunrise and then he gives  Rakaats of Salaah (Ishraq), will receive the praise of one complete Hajj and one whole Umrah.” (Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 586 with a valid chain)

3. Serving one’s Parents:
Sayyiduna Anas Radhiyallahu Anhu reports that a person got here to Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam and stated: “I desire to participate in Jihad, but I can not find the money for it.” Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam enquired if any of his mother and father were alive, to which he said: “Yes! My mom is alive.” Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Show Allah the way you serve her. If you do so, you’ll be like a: Haji, a Mu’tamir (one doing ‘Umrah) and a Mujaahid (One striving in Allah’s way).” (Abu Ya’l.  A., Hadith: 2760, and Tabarani with precise chains.-Targheeb, vol.Three, pg. 315 & Mukhtasar Ithaaf, Hadith: 5721)

4. Going to the Masjid to accumulate or impart Knowledge.
Sayyiduna Abu Umaamah Radhiyallahu Anhu reviews that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: “Whoever is going to the Masjid for the reason of getting to know or teaching Knowledge, gets the reward of a Haji whose Hajj changed into best.”

5. To recite “Subhanallah” 100 instances inside the morning and evening.
Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr Radhiyallahu Anhuma pronounced that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam said: “He who recites Subhanallah a hundred instances within the morning and every other one hundred instances within the evening is like one who achieved Hajj 100 times!” (Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3471 with a legitimate chain)

6. Umrah in Ramadan.
Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah Ibn ‘Abbas Radhiyallahu Anhuma has reported that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam surpassed with the aid of Ummu Sinan while on his manner to Hajj. “Why didn’t you accompany me for Hajj?” he enquired. She stated: “We only have 2 camels, one my husband has used to be with you in Haj, and the other is needed for transporting water.” Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Umrah in Ramadan equals the praise of Hajj with me.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1256)

7. Esha Salah in Congregation.
A reliable Tabi’e, Uqbah ibn ‘Abdil Ghaafir (rahimahullah) said: “Offering the Esha salah in congregation equals the praise of Hajj, and the Fajr in congregation equals Umrah.”

8. Fulfilling the want of a fellow Muslim.
Imam Hasan Al-Basri Rahimahullah stated: “Your intending to fulfil the want a fellow muslim is better for you than one Hajj after any other!” (Also quoted By Zabeedi (rahimahullah) in Sharhul Ihyaa, vol.6 pg.292)

9. Any act of Good in the course of the primary 10 days of Dhul Hijjah.
Hafiz Ibn Rajab (rahimahullah) has rightly pointed out: “If the Hadith has promised that any act of correct completed in these 10 days supersedes even the praise of Jihad, that is taken into consideration higher than non-obligatory Hajj too, meaning all right executed in in recent times may also supersede the praise of non-compulsory Hajj.”

10. Abstinence from the haram (forbidden) acts are also more virtuous than Nafl Hajj and many others.
Some of the Pious predecessors said: “To abstain from an iota of wrong is better than 5 hundred (Nafl) Hajj.”

Fudhail ibn ‘Iyadh Rahimahullah –the exquisite sage of his age – stated: “There is no Hajj or Jihad this is greater critical than protecting one’s tongue”.
